Monitor ArcGIS Online
Service Health

A slow or unreachable ArcGIS Online Feature Service breaks maps, dashboards, and field collection apps — often silently. GISGP's health checker lets you instantly verify that any Feature Service is responding correctly, returning data, and accessible to your users. Run a one-off check for free, or enable ongoing monitoring with automatic alerts when your service goes down.

What you get

Instant health check

Paste any ArcGIS Online Feature Service URL and get an immediate health report: response time, feature count, layer accessibility, and any error codes returned by the service.

🔓

No login needed

The one-off health check works without creating an account. Just paste the URL and click — results appear in seconds. No ArcGIS credentials needed for public services.

Monitor alerts (paid)

Upgrade to Starter or Pro to set up ongoing health monitors that check your service every hour and send an alert the moment it becomes unreachable or starts returning errors.

Frequently asked questions
How do I check if my ArcGIS Online service is down?+

Open the GISGP health checker tool, paste your Feature Service URL (ending in /FeatureServer/0 or similar), and click Check. The tool queries the service directly and reports whether it is responding, how long it took, and how many features it returned. No account required.

Can I get alerts when my service goes down?+

Yes. The Health Monitor feature (available on Starter and above) checks your service on a configurable interval and sends an email alert as soon as the service becomes unreachable or returns an error. You can monitor up to 1 service on Starter and up to 2 on Pro.

What does the health check test?+

The health check measures: (1) response time in milliseconds, (2) HTTP status code, (3) whether the ArcGIS REST response contains a valid layer definition, (4) the feature count at the time of the check, and (5) any error message returned by the service. This covers the most common causes of service failures including token expiry, service outages, and empty layers.

Is it free?+

The one-off health check is completely free — no account needed. Ongoing automated monitoring with email alerts is available from the Starter plan at $9/month, which includes 1 active health monitor checked every hour.
